Sebastian Perkes

Born in the quiet Austrian countryside where the highlight of the week was watching grass grow, Sebastian Perkes entered the world with a healthy dose of boredom. He was born to an Austrian mother and an English father, both teachers. At six, his family migrated to the “big city,” which turned out to be marginally more exciting but still featured far too many cows for comfort. After surviving a decade in Austria’s underfunded school system—where he learned little more than how to dodge responsibility—he decided life’s true curriculum lay beyond the classroom walls.

His first great adventure? Customer service. Armed with a certificate from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and zero patience for grumpy customers, Sebastian discovered that chaos has a peculiar way of following him. From eccentric colleagues to bewildered clients, he somehow became a magnet for life’s more… “interesting” personalities. Somewhere in the madness, he began writing stories, determined to immortalize his misadventures on the page (mostly to make himself feel better about them).

In 2023, Sebastian swapped Austria’s familiarity for Finland’s icy winters and unique charm. There, he braved the cold, unpronounceable words, and even the occasional curious bear, eyeing him as if he was their next meal. After a few months of braving the icy cold, he returned to Austria with his girlfriend, settling in Vienna. It’s here that he founded The English Masterclass, a language school helping students from around the world conquer Business English—because if Sebastian can navigate life’s chaos, he can certainly help others master a new language.
